Mack Center The Journal of Scholarhip of Teaching & Learning

Give To Mack Endowment

WHY
In honor of P.A. Mack Jr.’s late wife, Marian, this endowment is already making headlines and our goal is to raise two million dollars by 2006.  The Indiana University Foundation will match all gifts over the next five years; the matching portion of irrevocable pledges will become available at close of each fiscal year.

P.A. Mack has provided tremendous opportunity and growth to teaching and learning at IU, and his generosity keeps the spirit and mission of FACET alive.  Known for his kind heart and love for teaching, this dynamic individual is a true friend to the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Mack became an honorary FACET member in 1997 and served as IU trustee from 1992 to 1998. His contributions University and community-wide are numerous, including:

University-wide Joint Commission on Learning- Chair, 1991-1998.
Co-Creator of the Teaching Excellence Recognition Awards.
Served on the Dean's advisory council of the IU Kelley School of Business.
Gubernatorial appointee to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, presently.
Board of directors of Clarian Health, presently.
Served as administrative assistant to U.S. Sen. Birch Bayh.
Vice chairman of the National Credit Union Administrative Board under Presidents Carter and Reagan.
Former president of the American Association of Retired Persons.
Earned a master's degree in business administration from IU.
